Fees & FAQ
If you have a question not answered here, you’re welcome to get in touch.
Payment is due within 24 hours by e-transfer. I provide receipts for extended health plans that cover services from a Registered Psychotherapist.
Free 10-minute phone consultation
A brief consultation is a chance to ask questions and decide whether you’d like to book a first session.
01What happens during a psychoanalytic session?
There is nothing you need to prepare. Sessions are open-ended, and you can begin with whatever is on your mind. For a fuller description, see Psychoanalysis.
02How do I know whether psychoanalysis or EMDR is right for me?
EMDR is structured around particular memories or treatment targets; psychoanalysis is open-ended. If you’re unsure, we can discuss what you’re looking for before deciding.
03How often do sessions take place?
Many people begin with weekly sessions; some meet more frequently. We can discuss frequency based on your wishes and the work.
04Are your services covered by insurance?
Many extended health plans cover services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist. Coverage varies, so please check your plan. I provide receipts, and direct billing is available for some providers.
05Do you work with children, families, or couples?
I work individually with children age 10 and older, adolescents, and adults. My practice is individual rather than couples or family therapy.
06What is your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. With less notice, the full session fee is charged.
07How do I get started?
Email or use the contact form. I’ll reply to arrange a brief phone consultation or a first appointment.
08I’m not a resident of Ontario. Can I still see you?
Depending on the rules in your jurisdiction, we can discuss service availability if you live in:
- British Columbia
- Alberta
- Saskatchewan
